![]() ![]() I dont recall Fanime having any big vendors like Aniplex or Bandai. CRX has "official" big name vendors, which is a plus for me.I believe Fanime has a bigger artist alley section (could be wrong).I felt like they both had pretty much the same size of free space for people to gather and hangout. I do expect even more people to attend this year due to covid making people desperate for conventions and increase in anime popularity. Personal preference, I prefer CRX, but still enjoy Fanime for what it is. Keep in mind CRX might be different as this is the first time the con is occurring after the Funimation/Sony buyout. The following comparison would be for 2019 as I did not attend Fanime this year. Artist alley could of been more spaced out (again not terrible). Some line management issues for panels (not too bad though). Exhibit hall has a ton of space to roam.Ĭons: Some decent food areas around (convention food not good and $$$), but gotta travel out to get better stuff. Super convenient 2 hotels connected to the con (if not sold out). Alot variety of guests for panels and autographs. Has JP artist concert(looks like more than 1 this year) and JP guests. Has a bunch of exhibitors and artists and some big name vendors like Aniplex and Bandai. Pros: Smaller than AX and less crowded but bigger than your local con. With the Funimation merger, they might have more $$$ to put into this years expo. And I would say Crunchyroll Expo has been my favorite. Some background, I've been to the 3 years Crunchyroll Expo existed, Anime Expo 4x, Sacanime 8x, Fanime, and some other smaller cons. ![]() I think its totally worth it, depending on your budget of course. ![]()
